On Monday morning, Mark Eastwood MP welcomed the Flooding Minister, Robbie Moore, to Mirfield where they met local business owners and residents impacted by the major flooding events in Mirfield that have occured over the last ten years. Also in attendance were members of the Environment Agency and local Councillors.
Mark and the Minister met with local charity VetRun180 and the owners of Holme Bank Mills, alongside local residents and businesses to discuss the impact recent flooding events have had. It is positive news that the Environment Agency is still committed to a flood alleviation scheme for Mirfield, something which Mark and local Councillors have campaigned for since the devastation of Storm Ciara in 2020.
