Mark Eastwood is confirmed as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the new Ossett and Denby Dale constituency
On 6th April 2023 I was chosen by Conservative Party Members to be the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the new seat of Ossett and Denby Dale.
You may have already heard that boundary changes are taking place throughout the UK. This is a process which carried out by The Boundary Commission (an independent body) who review the makeup of constituencies to ensure that they have roughly the same sized electorates.
Unfortunately, the Dewsbury constituency will be broken up into three separate new seats. I made the decision to stand in Wakefield West and Denby Dale, as this is the seat where the largest number of people who voted for me in 2019 are based, and many of my friends and members of my family live.
Ossett and Denby Dale will cover anyone who lives in the wards of:
Kirkburton (partial)
Denby Dale
Wakefield South
Wakefield Rural
Horbury and South Ossett
Ossett
I will continue to be the Member of Parliament for Dewsbury until a General Election is called, but until that time I will be getting to know people in the new constituency in my spare time, and I'll be keeping you updated on my activities.
I can only accept casework from individuals who live within my current constituency boundary, but if you are based in Wakefield and would like to keep up with my activities, or know if an issue you want to let me know about, you can fill in the form below and I'll be in touch.
